Film Night and Talk

MAPS hereby invites you to an evening dedicated to the legendary choreographer and performance artist Anna Halprin.

Our host for the evening is Vala T. Foltyn, who had a close personal relationship with Halprin and has conducted extensive research into her choreographic practice. Through film screenings and personal stories, Vala offers a vivid introduction to Halprin’s life, art, and influence.

Anna Halprin was an American pioneer of postmodern dance, activist, healer, and mentor to numerous artists and dancers. Her groundbreaking work in choreography, performance art, and activism has inspired several generations of artists and art critics around the world.

During the evening, Vala T. Foltyn will present her own interview with Anna Halprin, as well as the film Journey in Sensuality (2015) and additional film clips celebrating her life and artistic work.

The evening concludes with an open discussion, and we will be serving warm soup.

The talk will be held in English.
