Walking with Art as Your Compass: Sisters Hope

How does the landscape change when we experience it through art?

Join artists on walks through Køge’s hidden landscapes, forgotten histories, and remarkable stories. With your body, senses, and curiosity as your compass, these walks invite you into new encounters with the places we move through – and are connected to.

Four artists and artist groups invite you to experience poetic rituals, staged excavations, dancing landscapes, and hidden plant life. Together, they explore the inseparable connections between people, nature, history, and place.

Sisters Hope: Sisters Sensing (Local)

Step into a poetic universe where the landscape becomes a space for presence, attentiveness, and sensory awareness. Through a series of quiet rituals between The Timer and The Sister, Sisters Hope invites us to slow down and discover the poetry of the landscape – and within ourselves. By listening with our whole bodies, we become more aware of how deeply we are all connected.

The internationally acclaimed performance group Sisters Hope works to strengthen art and the aesthetic as a driving force in society. In their works, the audience always becomes an active part of the experience.

22 August, 10.00 am–1.00 pm

Meeting point: MAPS, Nørregade 29, Køge

Ends at: Bramhøjgaard, Ølsemagle Kirkevej 62, Køge

The route is approximately 7 km.

Please note: Limited to 10 participants. Ages 16+. The walk takes place in silence and without mobile phones. The rituals will be documented by a photographer. Participants are asked to wear black and white clothing.

Participation is free, but registration is required.

Performing Landscapes Køge is organised by Metropolis – Copenhagen International Theatre in collaboration with MAPS – Museum of Art in Public Space and Køge Municipality as part of the municipality’s SceneKANT programme. Performing Landscapes is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.
