Dancing in the Streets

LEARNING THROUGH BODY & MOVEMENT

What happens when museum education is led through shared choreography and dance?

Students’ everyday lives are filled with screens, visual stimuli, and distractions. In Dancing in the Streets, we focus on being present — in the moment, in the space, in our bodies, with all senses engaged.

This workshop tells the story of dance leaving the stage and spilling out into the city streets.

Students will work with a mix of dance, photography, drawing, sculpture, performance, collage, and costume design.

We’ll dance through an endless room of golden mirrors, travel to a dance protest in Rio de Janeiro, and explore dance costumes made from a unique textile created from the “skin” of buildings.

So come along – and dance with us into the world of art!

Taste the Art - The Impact of Food

TASTE THE ART – THE IMPACT OF FOOD

In Taste the Art, we explore the connection between food, art, and sustainability. Students are introduced to new flavors and stories about ingredients with remarkable qualities: they taste great – and they help take care of our planet.

This workshop combines knowledge about ingredients, climate, and the environment with creative practice. Together, we gather around the table to discover new tastes. Afterwards, students are introduced to printmaking techniques, allowing them to create their own food posters inspired by their new knowledge of the ingredients.

The workshop is part of MAPS Becoming CLIMAVORE, focusing on the role of art institutions in a sustainable future. The program is developed in collaboration with the museum café, which regularly offers seasonal menus based on local and regenerative ingredients.
