Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in exhibition production, art communication, and research in an international context?
MAPS – Museum of Art in Public Spaces is looking for an exhibition assistant for autumn 2025. As an intern, you will become part of the team behind the second part of the main exhibition The Story of Public Art and have the opportunity to work closely with the museum’s senior curator and head of production.
Who are we?
MAPS – Museum of Art in Public Spaces is Denmark’s museum for art in public spaces. We create engaging experiences for local, national, and international audiences through a wide range of exhibitions, art projects, research, education, and events.
MAPS is present both in the museum building in Køge and in public spaces, where art fosters new encounters between people and places and addresses current social issues through ambitious art projects.
We are just 30 minutes from Copenhagen Central Station by train and 3 minutes’ walk from Køge Station.
The Exhibition – The Story of Public Art
The exhibition, The Story of Public Art, tells the story of groundbreaking artistic experiments in public space from the 1960s to the present day.
In March 2025, we opened the first part of our main exhibition: Dancing in the Streets (On Power), which focuses on performances, actions, manifestations, and media interventions in cities around the world.
In October 2025, the second part will open, exploring artistic experiments in landscapes and the interplay between nature and human-made environments.
