Taste the Art – The Impact of Food

TASTE THE ART – THE IMPACT OF FOOD
In Taste the Art, we explore the connection between food, art, and sustainability. Students are introduced to new flavors and stories about ingredients with special qualities: they taste good and help take care of our planet.
The program combines insights on ingredients, climate, and the environment with creative practice. Together, we sit down and explore new tastes. Afterwards, students are introduced to printing techniques, so they can create their own food posters inspired by their new knowledge of ingredients.
The program is part of MAPS Becoming CLIMAVORE, focusing on the role of art institutions in a sustainable future. The program has been developed in collaboration with the museum’s café, which regularly presents seasonal menus made from local and regenerative ingredients. Learn more about MAPS Becoming CLIMAVORE.

Thoughts on Time

PHILOSOPHY FOR CHILDREN THROUGH ART
Join us in the exhibition The Story of Public Art!
We use art to explore what memories are. The focus is not on the students’ personal memories, but rather on putting concrete words and images to something as abstract as time.
The students’ curiosity is the starting point as we wonder together about philosophical questions like: What do you store memories in? What material is a memory made of? And what happens to a lost memory? Together, we explore an infinite space built from golden mirrors. We venture into an abandoned, rusty car with a trunk full of memories, and we experience a flying house made from the “skin” of buildings. During the day, we create new shared memories, which we end by saving in our individual memory books that the students take home with them.
