Guided Introduction to Labyrinths

Ibrahim Mahama

28.06.2026 13:00 – 01:15

Get a short introduction to Labyrinths every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 1pm.

Labyrinths is Ibrahim Mahama’s monumental public artwork on the MAPS forecourt. The work is created from reclaimed bricks from some of Denmark’s historically and culturally significant buildings: Fredensborg Palace, Vor Frue Monastery, Vestre Prison, the Natural History Museum of Denmark and MAPS’ own building, a former school.

During the introduction, you can hear about the bricks’ previous lives, the traces of use, wear, holes and scratches that are still visible, and how children and young people from Køge have added their own words, marks and stories to the work.

Combine the introduction with lunch in the café beforehand — or coffee and cake afterwards.
