Slow Looking at Labyrinths by Ibrahim Mahama

The first glance is only the beginning.

At MAPS, you are guided in experiencing Ibrahim Mahama’s monumental work Labyrinths on the museum forecourt through slow looking – a slow, pressure-free approach to experiencing art.

Together with Cecilie Monrad, art facilitator at MAPS, you will be guided to slow down and sharpen your attention.

Through sensory awareness and shared reflection, we explore the work’s materials, forms, light and space.

The aim is not to find the right answer. It is to notice more: details, moods and connections that can easily disappear at a quick glance. You do not need any prior knowledge of art. All you need is curiosity and a desire to take a closer look.

Practical information

The session takes place outdoors on the forecourt of MAPS and lasts approximately one hour. Price: DKK 250 per participant.

Before and after the session, food and drinks are available for purchase in the café.

The session will take place with a minimum of four participants and has a maximum capacity of 15. If there is high demand, an additional session will be added.

Registration and payment are handled through FOF.

Companies, organisations and larger groups can book a tailored Slow Looking session at MAPS.

Everyone is welcome. All you need to bring is your curiosity.
