Slow Looking at Daboli by Ibrahim Mahama Thursdays, 5–6 pm
An artwork does not necessarily reveal everything at first glance.
At MAPS, you are guided into one of Ibrahim Mahama’s works in the exhibition The Story of Public Art. Together with Cecilie Monrad, art facilitator at MAPS, you will slow down and explore what happens when you allow your gaze to linger.
We take a closer look at the work’s materials, details and traces. Through simple exercises and shared reflection, you will be guided to look more closely and put into words what you notice.
You do not need to be able to decode or interpret the work beforehand. Slow Looking is not about knowing the most, but about paying attention. About discovering how a work opens up when we give ourselves the time and space to observe it.
Practical information
The session lasts approximately one hour and costs DKK 250 per participant. DKK 110 for annual pass holders.
The session will take place with a minimum of four participants and has a maximum capacity of 15. If there is high demand, an additional session will be added.
Companies, organisations and larger groups can book a tailored Slow Looking session at MAPS.
Everyone is welcome. All you need to bring is your curiosity.
