MAPS is proud to present a new student exhibition this year.
The exhibition brings together works by second-grade students from Sct. Nicolai School and young exchange students from DIS Denmark in an exploration of urban spaces, imagination and new ways of living together.
The students from Sct. Nicolai School have built their own miniature cities from recycled materials, exploring what urban spaces of the past and future might look like.
Their imaginative and playful buildings meet photographs taken by the students from DIS. Inspired by the American artist Gordon Matta-Clark, they have explored how old and neglected urban spaces can be broken apart, reimagined and given new life.
Seen through the eyes of children and young people, the city becomes a place full of possibilities. The exhibition offers a playful and hopeful vision of how the next generation imagines the shared spaces of the future and how we might coexist within them.
You are invited to the student exhibition and Season Opening on Friday 11 September at 4 pm.
The student exhibition is on view at MAPS from 11–18 September.
