Summer Holiday Workshop

Join us for a creative summer workshop at MAPS

During Week 29, we invite children and adults to design their own hand fan inspired by the colourful Kente fans of Ghana.

Taking Ibrahim Mahama’s artistic practice as our starting point, we explore how materials and everyday objects can carry meaning and create connections across people, places, and traditions.

Kente is Ghana’s national cloth, renowned for its vibrant colours and distinctive patterns. In this workshop, we draw inspiration from this rich craft tradition as we create our own unique hand fans.

Through creativity, making, and shared conversations, the workshop opens up a space for curiosity about Ghanaian culture, craftsmanship, and the stories that materials can tell.

Participation: DKK 50 per child

Tickets can be purchased online or at the museum on the day.

Adults participate free of charge when accompanying a child.

Admission to the museum exhibitions is not included and must be purchased separately.
